Objectives of the Alternative Mining Indaba 2025

1. Fostering Inclusive Dialogue
Provide a safe and collaborative platform for diverse stakeholders—including mining-affected communities, activists, faith leaders, and civil society practitioners—to engage in meaningful discussions that contribute to building a just and inclusive mining and energy transition sector.

2. Strengthening Solidarity
Encourage people-centred and environmentally sustainable strategies for the clean energy transition by fostering collective advocacy and uniting efforts to amplify the voices of the most marginalised communities.

3. Empowerment through Knowledge
Empower communities by sharing essential tools, resources, and information about mining and energy transitions, focusing on feminist and community-centred perspectives.

4. Advancing Advocacy and Policy
Create actionable policy recommendations, position papers, and advocacy strategies that influence sustainable resource governance, ensuring justice and inclusivity remain at the forefront.
